It was after the liberation of Ottoman rule that the classical opera and ballet art was established in Bulgaria. The famous producer of features for Golfing World, Glenn Mitchell, has dedicated one of his series to Bulgaria as an attractive destination for golf tourism. From this week, the feature will be broadcast in the thirty-four countries whose nationals account for the largest part of the tourists coming to Bulgaria each year. In addition, air carriers British Airways, Virgin and Lufthansa broadcast the feature during their flights to Bulgaria. The feature is part of the strategy of the Bulgarian Golf Association to promote Bulgaria as one of the leading golf destinations in Europe. At present, the promotion of golf and its development as a sport in Bulgaria, as well as all investments in golf courses and complexes, is entirely in private hands. Thus, golf is among the few recognized by the IOC sports in Bulgaria that are financed entirely by the private sector. Commercials of Bulgaria as a golf destination have been broadcast by some of the biggest TV channels in the world, including CNN, BBC and IMG media.
