Development of Bulgaria's opera and ballet art

It was after the liberation of Ottoman rule that the classical opera and ballet art was established in Bulgaria. The Opera theatre was founded in 1890, at a time when Bulgaria lived through political and economic instability, but managed to survive and, moreover, to cultivate in the Bulgarian people a fine taste for opera music. Bulgarian opera composers and singers carefully studied the traditions of the Western European and the Russian Opera Theatre and developed the unique style of the Bulgarian opera music and ballet. Thanks to the zealous efforts and the boundless creative spirit of Bulgarian musicians, the National Opera Theatre gradually gained international prestige. Today Bulgarian performers participate in guest tours worldwide and foreign world-famous artists hold performances in the hall of the Opera House. The hard economic situation in Bulgaria has influenced all spheres of culture, including the opera art. In spite of the economic difficulties the National Opera Theatre continues its activities relying on sponsorship and trying to attract young audience. The Easter Festival and the performances for the Christmas holidays with participation of Bulgarian and foreign musicians are the most exciting and the most visited musical events in the Opera Theatre.

Japanese investments in the tourism of Kazanlak town

Over 20 rural tourism houses were built within the project for resurgence of Municipality Kazanlak. The general appearance of Kazanlak region was improved additionally by its new planted roses. Japanese investments estimated at 1,5 M EUR were made in the tuition of Kazanlak residents who work in tourism field. The investment is part of the whole project to resurgence of the municipality of Kazanlak.

The start of the project for the resurgence of Kazanlak Municipality was provoked by the phenomenon archaeological discoveries of famous George Kitov in 2004 in the Valley of Roses.

Japanese experts in cooperation with ambitious Kazanlak residents have made 5 main strategies for three years. The main one was the construction of a tourist zone, including rural tourism development and improvement of the appearance of the region. Therefore, 20 rural tourism houses were built in Kazanlak area and new roses were planted. Bulgaria proved that it is an attractive tourist destination for Japanese tourists with its magic wine and Thracian landmarks. Japanese tourists traditionally show high interest in different cultures and for that reason they are expected to interested Bulgarian wines and mysterious Thracian culture. In most experts’ opinion, Bulgarian wine and the Thracian culture have been always closely connected.
