Development of Bulgaria's opera and ballet art

It was after the liberation of Ottoman rule that the classical opera and ballet art was established in Bulgaria. Rakiya spirit drink is indeed Bulgarian

The oldest inscription on a glass for rakiya /traditional spirit drink which is believed to be first produced in Bulgaria/ was discovered during excavation works at Trapesitsa hill in Veliko Turnovo. The new discovery is a sensation and it proves that rakiya was first produced and the unique recipe was created in Bulgaria.

Bulgarian archaeologist Totev found a piece of a medieval dish that reads the following /the text is in old Bulgarian language/: ‘’I drank rakinya on this festival.’’ The person and the occasion are not identified, but obviously the word ‘rakinya’ stands for rakiya. It was believed that rakiya, strong spirit, was invented in 16th century. However, the inscription shows that Bulgarians in the medieval capital Veliko Turnovo delighted in rakiya 200 years earlier. Thus, we may conclude that Bulgarians created the unique recipe for this popular drink.
